Before the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the politics of Bhadohi Sadar seat has heated up. District Panchayat member Amit Singh Prince, son of former MLC Brijesh Singh, has announced that he will contest the elections whether he gets the symbol or not. His attitude has raised the challenge of new political equations before the Bharatiya Janata Party, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party. The special thing is that between the political hold of Brijesh Singh's family in Purvanchal and the local activism of Amit, now the fight for ticket on Bhadohi Sadar seat also seems to be interesting.
While talking to the media at his residence in Aurai, Amit Singh Prince clearly said that whoever contests the election, he will contest the elections. When asked about the possible candidature of Brijesh Singh and Kapsethi House, who have influence in the politics of Purvanchal, he said that it does not matter to him which house contests or which warrior comes forward. It is certain that he will contest the elections.
Who is Amit Singh Prince?
Amit Singh Prince is currently a BJP supported District Panchayat member. He is doing public relations in the area with a convoy of luxury vehicles like Range Rover, Land Cruiser and Defender. On the question of ticket, he said that everything will become clear when the time comes and whatever his parents decide, that will happen. He left no doubts on his decision to contest the elections. His announcement may increase the challenge for BJP in arranging ticket contenders. If Amit does not get the party ticket and contests as an independent or with the support of any other party, then the mathematics of the contest may change. At present the picture is not clear regarding his next political step and the way to contest the elections.

Discussion increased due to political influence of Brijesh Singh
Brijesh Singh's family has been active in Purvanchal politics for a long time. The family has had influence on the Legislative Council seat of Varanasi-Chandauli-Bhadohi local body area. Brijesh Singh's elder brother Udaybhan Singh alias Chulbul Singh was also an MLC, while his wife Annapurna Singh had won as an independent candidate in 2022. The BJP candidate had to face defeat in that election.
Due to this political background, Amit Singh Prince's claim is also being considered important. In September 2026, discussions were also raised on some seats of Purvanchal about Brijesh Singh himself contesting the 2027 assembly elections. However, the final position regarding his seat and party is not clear. In such a situation, Amit's announcement of contesting elections from Bhadohi Sadar has become a separate political development amidst the political activism of the family.
The path of Zahid Baig, Rabindranath Tripathi and Dada Chauhan is not easy.
The current MLA from Bhadohi Sadar seat is SP's Zahid Baig, who is considered close to Akhilesh Yadav. The candidature of former MLA Rabindranath Tripathi from BJP is in discussion, while former BSP candidate Harishankar alias Dada Chauhan is also busy strengthening his political ground. The equation of voters of Muslims, Brahmins, Dalits and backward classes is considered important on this seat. It is too early to say how much impact Amit's activism and his hold among the youth will have on the vote bank of these parties. But his claim has made the contest interesting even before the elections.

Claim to contest elections on the issue of development and employment
Amit Singh Prince said that his fight is not with any leader, but with himself. He claims that he wants to do concrete work for the area. He has also released his roadmap and election manifesto regarding the basic problems of Bhadohi, employment and development of youth. He raised questions on the working of the previous public representatives for the poor condition of the area.
Now the biggest question is whether Amit Singh Prince gets BJP ticket or he enters the fray with some other option. His announcement has definitely increased the possibility of new equations being formed on Bhadohi Sadar seat, but the real impact will be visible only after the final list of candidates and electoral alliance becomes clear.
