The story of unseen heroes from the 26/11 Mumbai attacks is set to reach a wider audience as Kangana Ranaut’s film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata gets its OTT release date.
The film was scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on August 14, 2026. It had featured the efforts of hospital workers who had shown courage while protecting patients during the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Directed by Manoj Tapadia, the film had starred Kangana Ranaut, Girija Oak and Smita Tambe in important roles. The movie had been based on true events and focused on the contribution of doctors, nurses, ward boys, cleaners and other hospital staff at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital.
The streaming platform had shared the trailer announcement on social media and wrote, “An untold story of ordinary nurses who stood with extraordinary courage on the darkest night of 26/11. Some heroes were never seen. Their stories were never told. Until now.”
The film had explored the experiences of healthcare workers who had continued their duties during the difficult situation. It had highlighted the actions of people who worked inside the hospital while the city was facing the terror attacks.
Kangana Ranaut, who had acted in and co-produced the film, had spoken about bringing the story of these healthcare workers to audiences. She said, “Some stories choose you because they deserve to be told. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is one such film.”
She had added that the film focused on people whose courage came from their duty and compassion during the crisis.
Director Manoj Tapadia had also shared his thoughts about the project. He said, “Our intention was to tell the story of 26/11 from a perspective that has never been explored.”
He further said that the film had shown the bravery of doctors, nurses and hospital staff who had continued caring for patients despite the danger around them.
