Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Bharat Taxi service in Uttar Pradesh on September 23. Service has started in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj. Drivers will get zero commission and social security of ₹5 lakh.
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Bharat Taxi service in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Through this cooperative based platform, taxi, two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers will be able to join at zero commission through registration. According to the government, drivers will also get social security of ₹5 lakh. At present the service has been started in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
Bharat Taxi service launched in UP
Bharat Taxi service has started in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the service in a program organized in Lucknow on Wednesday, September 23. Bharat Taxi is being operated as the country's cooperative-based ride-hailing platform.
Under this service, apart from taxis, two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers can also join by registering. A zero commission model has been put in place for the drivers and they are said to be given social security coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.
Operation started in four cities
In Uttar Pradesh, Bharat Taxi has started operations in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj. Agreements have been signed with various institutions including Lucknow Airport, Lucknow Metro and Lucknow Police for cooperation in operating the service.
In the program, the Chief Minister said that the drivers joining Bharat Taxi will be its shareholders and will get a share in the profits. He also asked the Transport Department to take forward the rural bus service on the lines of this model.
Loan scheme started for farmers at 6% interest
Chief Minister Krishak Samriddhi Yojana was also launched in the same program. Under the scheme, long-term loans at 6 percent interest rate will be provided to small and marginal farmers for farming and related activities. Earlier the interest rate of this loan was stated to be 11 percent.
Under the scheme, a target has been set to benefit five lakh small and marginal farmers. Krishak Samriddhi Portal app was launched during the program. Apart from this, mobile app and cooperative data center was also launched to make fertilizer and cooperative related services easier.
Certificates given to the beneficiaries in the program
During the programme, the Chief Minister presented share certificates of Bharat Taxi to five charioteers and loan sanction letters to five beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Krishak Samridhi Yojana. The Chief Minister along with Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol flagged off the vehicles of Bharat Taxi.
Many officials and public representatives including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) JPS Rathore and Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh were present in the program.
