The film has taken a great start at the box office. The trio of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan has once again succeeded in drawing the audience to the theatre. On opening day, the morning shows had around 10% occupancy, but due to positive word of mouth, it increased to more than 30% by night. It is expected that there may be a big jump in the film’s earnings on the weekend.

Worldwide Collection
The film grossed approximately $5.5 lakh (approximately ₹4.5 crore) in the overseas market. With this, the total worldwide collection of Bhooth Bangla has reached ₹24 crore on the first day.

Place in horror-comedy films
Bhooth Bangla has made a strong entry in the horror-comedy genre and on the basis of its opening, it has given tough competition to the big films of this category. The film surpassed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s ₹21 crore opening, although it could not reach Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s ₹53 crore opening. Apart from this, it was also a little behind the opening of ‘Thamma’ at ₹31 crore. Whereas Stree 2 still remains the film with the biggest opening (₹80 crore) of this genre.
