New Delhi. Delhi Police has taken a big step with the aim of curbing crimes against minors in the capital Delhi and giving strict punishment to the culprits. In a recent case, the police, taking a strict stance, have registered a case against the accused Swatantra Bhardwaj under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act i.e. 'POCSO Act'. This prompt action of the police has made it clear that there will be no negligence or leniency in sensitive matters related to children.
According to information received from police sources, this case is related to a crime committed against a minor. Considering the sensitivity and seriousness of the matter, the police immediately took strict legal steps. As soon as the fact that the victim was a minor was confirmed during the investigation, the investigation team without any delay added stringent sections of the POCSO Act to the case registered against the accused. Due to the action being taken against the accused Swatantra Bhardwaj under this law, his legal problems have increased considerably, because the crimes under the POCSO Act are non-bailable and there is a provision for harsh punishment.
Senior police officers say that the safety of children is one of the top priorities of law and order and a policy of 'zero tolerance' is being adopted in such cases. At present, the police team is busy collecting all the electronic and physical evidence related to this case, recording the statements of witnesses and completing the further legal process expeditiously. The police is trying to complete the investigation as soon as possible and present a strong charge sheet against the accused in the court so that the victim can get justice soon.
