Big action by Vigilance Bureau in July, 14 people arrested red handed in 14 cases of bribery

Punjab News: As part of the campaign being run by the Punjab Government against corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, taking major action against corruption during July 2026, has succeeded in arresting a total of 14 persons, including 12 government employees and 2 private persons, red-handed while taking bribes in 14 different trap cases.

Giving this information, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the Bureau is continuously taking effective action with the aim of rooting out corruption in the state.

Challans presented in various competent courts

He said that along with curbing corruption in government departments, the Vigilance Bureau is also keeping a close watch on the cases of private individuals promoting or indulging in corrupt activities in government work.

The spokesperson said that during the month of July, challans related to 16 vigilance cases have been presented by the Bureau in various competent courts. This action is an important step towards taking forward the legal process of corruption related cases and punishing the accused as per law.

5 criminal cases registered

He further informed that 2 vigilance investigations have been registered during July for thorough investigation of corruption related cases. Apart from this, one case has also been registered on charges of acquiring assets beyond income.

Vigilance Bureau spokesperson said that during this period, 5 criminal cases have also been registered against 7 accused, including 5 government employees.
