Big announcement by Bihar government, great news for fishermen, tension gone!

Patna. The fishermen and fish farmers of Bihar who suffered damage to boats, nets and ponds due to floods will now be able to get financial help. The government has fixed the amount of assistance for different types of losses, so that the affected people can get convenience in starting their work again.

Let us tell you that due to the latter, different types of assistance will be provided in case of loss of the boat. Rs 6,000 will be given for repairing a partially damaged non-mechanized boat, while Rs 15,000 will be given for a new boat in place of a completely destroyed boat.

Similarly, there is a provision for relief even if the net gets damaged. An assistance of Rs 3,000 can be provided in case of partial loss and Rs 4,000 in case of completely damaged or lost net.

Help for fodder and pond also

After the floods, small and marginal fish farmers will be given an input subsidy of Rs 10,000 per hectare for fish feed. There is a provision of assistance up to Rs 18,000 per hectare to reconstruct damaged ponds and fish farms.

However, its benefit will be available only to those eligible people who have not received subsidy or assistance from any other government scheme for the same loss. One-time subsidy of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy has been kept apart from this rule.
