Big announcement from the government on petrol and diesel! Oil companies got huge benefits, know whether the prices have decreased in your city?

Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia, a very relieving news is coming from the Indian general public and the government regarding the kitchen budget. On behalf of the Petroleum Ministry, Sujata Sharma has made it clear that due to the foreign crisis, the global supply of LPG and natural gas has been affected, but India’s refineries are working at full speed and normally. The biggest thing is that there is sufficient stock of fuel in the country, so there is no need to panic at all.

The ministry has assured the public that the stock of petrol, diesel, LPG and natural gas in the country is absolutely full. There is no shortage of oil or gas at any LPG distributor or petrol pump (retail centre). Along with this, there is also good news on the front of government oil companies (OMCs). The losses of companies which earlier used to be Rs 1,000 crore every day, have now come down to Rs 750 crore per day, which is a big improvement from the point of view of the economy.

Avoid rumors, there is no shortage of oil in the country

The government also admitted that due to rumors of supply stoppage in many areas, people are doing panic buying. Sujata Sharma said that immediate action is being taken on such rumors and wherever the need is felt, additional supplies are being sent immediately. A new trend has also been seen in the market that people who earlier used to buy diesel-petrol in bulk, are now buying directly from petrol pumps. Despite this, the government is fully prepared to maintain normal fuel supply in every corner of the country.

Record delivery of domestic and commercial LPG

While releasing the figures regarding LPG, the government said that the supply of domestic LPG is continuing without any interruption. At the same time, the supply of commercial LPG also remains at the level of more than 70 percent. The network of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the country is also expanding rapidly. Since the month of March, about 7.37 lakh new PNG connections have been started, while the framework for 2.76 lakh connections is ready. Apart from this, more than 7.76 lakh people have registered for PNG, and more than 58 thousand customers have surrendered their old LPG connection after getting PNG.

If we talk about cylinders, in the last four days, about 1.72 crore domestic LPG cylinders have been delivered in the country, whereas during this period, bookings were only 1.69 crore. That means the government is delivering more cylinders than the demand. Talking about commercial gas, 1.08 lakh tonnes of commercial LPG has been sold since the beginning of this month. Along with this, the sale of small cylinders i.e. 5 kg has also crossed 1.90 lakh in the last four days.

Surprise inspection and awareness campaign at petrol pumps

Government oil companies have taken the lead to eliminate fear among the public. Awareness camps are being organized at various places. Yesterday alone, 95 camps were organized and more than 2,200 cylinders were sold. Apart from this, it is also a matter of relief for the industries because gas-based urea plants are working at 96 percent of their full capacity and the supply of gas to City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies has been increased to 80 percent.

To prevent black marketing and hoarding in the market, officials of state governments and oil companies are continuously conducting surprise checking. In the last four days, around 2,800 petrol pumps and LPG distributors across the country have been inspected to ensure that there are no irregularities in the supply chain.

Good news for farmers: No change in fertilizer prices

Giving great relief to the farmers of the country, Aparna Sharma of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that even after the global crisis, there has been no change in the maximum retail price (MRP) of major fertilizers. Domestic production of fertilizer in the country is very strong and has reached 86.2 lakh metric tonnes. Apart from this, more than 22 lakh metric tonnes of imported fertilizers have reached Indian ports safely.

India has already secured stocks of 13.5 lakh metric tonnes of DAP and 7 lakh metric tonnes of NPK complex as part of its long term planning. The government is constantly reviewing the availability of fertilizers and the subsidy given to farmers through DBT is also being paid on time. 9 meetings of the Secretary level Empowered Group have been held so far and the situation of fertilizers in rural areas is completely stable.

India’s goods are arriving safely by sea

Giving information about a major success, Mukesh Mangal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said that Marshall Islands flagged LPG tanker ‘Semi’, which was carrying 10,965 metric tonnes of LPG for India, has reached India safely and offloaded its entire cargo on the night of 16 May. Amidst the war environment, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Mission are continuously working to ensure that our sailors remain safe at sea.

The ministry said that there has been no untoward incident with any ship with Indian crew in the last 96 hours. The control room is fully active and till now people have been helped through 9,702 calls and more than 21,000 emails. The government has so far brought back more than 3,217 Indian sailors safely to their homeland. All ports (sea-ports) of India are functioning at full capacity and there is no jam or blockage.

Indian embassies are on 24-hour alert in Gulf countries
