Big change in Bihar Rural Works Department: Strict stance from pension to files
Patna. A high-level review meeting was organized to make the work faster and more transparent in the Rural Affairs Department of Bihar. In this meeting chaired by Additional Secretary Sanjay Kumar, all the works related to Branch-04 of the department were reviewed in detail.
Strict instructions on pending files
During the review, special attention was paid to those cases which were pending for a long time. Officials were directed to dispose of all pending files and correspondence at the earliest. It was also made clear that responsibility would be fixed for delaying work or withholding files and answers would be sought from the concerned officials.
Initiative to increase technical efficiency
Focus was also placed on improving the capacity of junior engineers and technical staff. Those employees who have not yet passed the computer proficiency test were instructed to prepare soon and motivate them to take the test. This process is being considered an important part of departmental reform.
Priority for pension and retired employees
The pending cases of pension and other benefits related to retired personnel were also taken seriously in the meeting. Officials were instructed to deal with these cases on priority basis. This will make it easier for retired employees to get their rights on time.
Focus on strengthening digital systems and coordination
Better use of digital systems including HRMS portal was also discussed in this meeting. Officials were instructed to remove the obstacles arising at the technical level soon. Besides, emphasis was also laid on creating better coordination between departmental branches, so that the work can be done more smoothly.
