Big change in driving license rules in UP, know the new rules
Lucknow. There is going to be a big change in the rules for making and renewing driving license in Uttar Pradesh. Now the licensing process will not be as easy as before, rather the applicants will have to go through a state-of-the-art testing system. Especially those whose DL has expired for a long time, they may have to take the driving test again.
Automatic Driving Training Center (ADTC) is going to be started in the capital Lucknow. Here the ability to drive the vehicle will be tested under the monitoring of sensors and cameras. The objective of this new system is to make the driving test transparent and ensure compliance with the rules.
You may have to give a test for DL renewal
According to the new rules, if a person’s driving license has expired and he does not renew it on time, he may have to go through the test process. Under motor vehicle rules, a test is not required if the DL is renewed within one year of its expiry, but if more than a year has passed, it may be necessary to take the driving test again.
Test will also be mandatory for those with learning license
Now to convert the learning license into a permanent driving license, a driving test will have to be given. The applicant will not get DL by merely completing the documentary process as before. Before making permanent DL, the driving ability of the applicant will be tested on an automatic track.
Separate test system for car, bike and truck
Special tracks have been made for different vehicles during driving tests. Car drivers will have to show skills like parking, climbing and reverse. At the same time, for those driving two-wheelers and heavy vehicles, the examination will be conducted on the basis of different standards.
Sensors and cameras will monitor driving
Vehicle testing in the new driving center will be done in a completely technical manner. Sensors have been installed at various places on the track and every activity will be recorded through cameras. The applicant will have to complete the track within the stipulated time. If a mistake is made while driving, a signal will be received from the sensor and the result will be decided based on the recording.
Earlier complaints used to come in manual test
Till now, driving tests were conducted manually in many places. Complaints have been coming forward regarding ignoring rules and transparency in this process. After the implementation of the new automatic system, efforts are being made to make the driving license process more fair and secure. With this, only people who drive properly will be able to get the license.
