Big decision for UP employees: Transfers will happen till May 31

Lucknow. A major administrative decision has been taken regarding government employees in Uttar Pradesh. The new transfer policy for the year 2026-27 has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Yogi Adityanath. Under this decision, transfers can be made in the state till May 31, due to which the stir among the employees has intensified.

According to the new policy, employees working in the same district for a long time may now face transfer. Employees who have completed 3 years or 7 years of tenure in a district will be transferred on priority basis. Apart from this, a maximum of 20% of Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ officers and 10% of Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ employees can be transferred.

What will happen after May 31?

The transfer process will become more strict after the transfer season ends. Especially for the transfer of Group ‘A’ and ‘B’ officers, it will be mandatory to take the permission of the Chief Minister. An attempt has been made to stop unnecessary or arbitrary transfers.

Merit based online system

This time the government has emphasized on implementing online and merit based system to make transfers more transparent. Especially the transfers of Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ employees will be done through digital process, which will reduce the possibility of corruption and favoritism.

Aspirational districts will be given priority

It has also been decided in the new policy that vacant posts in aspirational districts and blocks will be filled first. This will help in strengthening the administrative system in backward areas.

Husband-wife and disabled people will get relief in transfer

The government has also taken care of human aspects. If both husband and wife are in government service, efforts will be made to post them in the same district. Disabled employees and parents of children with special needs will be given posting at the desired place on priority basis.
