Chattishgharh news: In the cabinet meeting held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh government has taken two big decisions simultaneously and made it clear that now the focus is on equality in law and increasing the economic power of women. The government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has given the green signal to start the process of implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state. For this, a high level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai, which will prepare a draft after talking to different parties.
Justice system will be easy and transparent
The government believes that after the implementation of UCC, uniform rules will apply in place of the laws of different religions in matters related to marriage, divorce, property and family. This will make the legal process easier and people will be able to get more transparent and equal justice, especially women will get direct benefit from it.
Chattishgharh news: Buying property will be cheaper for women
With this, the cabinet has taken another important decision, giving great relief to women. Now if any property is registered in the name of a woman, there will be a rebate of up to 50% in the registration fee. Its direct impact will be that it will be cheaper for women to buy houses or land and families will also be encouraged to take property in their names.
The government called it social investment
Chattishgharh news: Although this decision may cause a loss of revenue of about Rs 153 crore to the government, but the government is not considering it as an expense but as an investment in the future of women.
