Patna. The government has announced many important steps to make women economically stronger in Bihar. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary gave information about many schemes related to women. These announcements include initiatives ranging from connecting homes with solar energy to creating new opportunities for higher education and employment for women.
1. Jeevika Didi's houses will get solar energy
The state plans to install solar panels on the homes of about 10 lakh Jeevika Didis. For this, support of PM Surya Ghar Yojana will be taken. The government has set a target to complete this work by March 31 next year. Increasing use of solar energy is expected to reduce the electricity expenses of families.
2. A separate university will be built for girl students
It has been announced to establish a women's university in Bihar to promote women's education. In this, along with providing education to girl students, there is a plan to ensure participation of women in the administration and teaching system of the university.
3. Women got financial help
Under the Women Employment Scheme, a total assistance of Rs 600 crore has been given to 5 lakh Jeevika Didis. This amount has been made available to the beneficiaries in different installments, so that they can start or advance employment related work.
4. Preparation to connect one crore women with income
The government has set a target of providing employment and self-employment opportunities to a large number of women. Work will be done to connect about one crore women with employment and to make the same number of women financially strong and bring them into the category of 'Lakhpati Didi'. Animal husbandry, production and service sector will be made the main medium for this.
5. Promotion of business through loans and rural markets
Steps have also been taken towards providing financial assistance to women to start their own business. The process of providing loans to 10 thousand beneficiaries has been started. Along with this, 112 rural haats will be prepared in different areas.
