Big decision of Bihar government, good news for 5 cities
Patna. Bihar government is preparing to approve a big plan to give a new direction to the urban development of the state. Under this scheme, the infrastructure of five major cities including Patna will be completely modernized in the next ten years.
Which cities will be the focus?
Major cities like Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Purnia have been included under this ambitious scheme. Roads, water supply, sewerage, transport and other infrastructure facilities will be strengthened in these cities, so that the needs of the growing population can be met.
Big investment of Rs 4751 crore
According to the government plan, a total of Rs 4751 crore will be spent on this project. This investment will be done in a phased manner from 2027 to 2037. Its objective is to transform cities into modern and well-planned urban structures.
Development will happen under master plan
Keeping in mind the increasing urban population, this scheme focuses on master plan based development. The government’s aim is that development in these cities should not be uncontrolled but should happen in a planned manner, so that any kind of chaos can be avoided in future.
Support will come from international cooperation
The state government will work with the World Bank to make this project successful. Under this, there is a plan to run Bihar Urban Transformation Program (BUTP). For this cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with the World Bank after the consent of the Central Government.
New economic and employment opportunities in cities
This scheme will not only change the face of cities but will also create new employment opportunities. The creation of better urban infrastructure is expected to accelerate trade, investment and economic activities, which will also strengthen the local economy.
