Mathura: Taking a strict stance on the allegations of misappropriation of donation amount in Banke Bihari Temple located in Vrindavan, the Supreme Court on Tuesday issued several important instructions. The Supreme Court said that every money donated should be deposited in the donation box or online account only. These instructions were issued by the bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana.
What is the whole matter?
The Supreme Court was hearing the petitions of the Management Committee of Thakur Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj Temple. Senior Advocate Maninder Singh presented a status report of the High Power Committee regarding the alleged theft of donations in the temple.
He also presented photographs and said that the matters are very serious and require immediate action. He said that there is a video, three people are standing in front of Golak i.e. traditional donation box and collecting money from devotees and putting it in their polythene bags. The court was also surprised to see this.
Supreme Court gave strict instructions
Taking a strong stand on the arguments of the senior advocate, the bench said that there should be no doubt and we direct that every penny of donation should come in the donation box or online account only.
Any obstruction by Sevayat or anyone else will be taken very seriously. The management committee should implement a transparent system for the temple treasury.
The court clearly said that the faith of the devotees coming to the temple should not be tampered with. The donated money belongs to God and should go directly into the temple coffers.
4 big instructions of Supreme Court
- Donation will go directly to the coffers: The court made it clear that every penny donated to the temple should go directly into the temple's coffers, either through designated donation boxes or by receiving it online. No person will be allowed to collect donations with his hand.
- Tolerating no interruptions: The Supreme Court said that any obstruction in this arrangement of donations by the services or any other person will be taken very seriously. If anyone is found doing this, strict action will be taken against him.
- Ensure transparency: The court directed the management committee of the temple to implement a system to ensure transparency in the entire process of donation so that any kind of irregularity or irregularities can be prevented.
- Every information before the court: The Supreme Court also directed that proposals to purchase property with temple money be placed before the court before the transaction is completed.
