Big decision of Yogi government! Krishi Sakhis will be deployed in all 75 districts
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government no longer wants to limit cow conservation to just animal care, but is preparing to develop it on a large scale by linking it with rural economy, women empowerment and organic farming. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has prepared a new scheme, under which Krishi Sakhis will be deployed in thousands of cow shelters in all 75 districts of the state.
The aim of the government is to increase the participation of women in villages and cowsheds can become strong centers of self-reliance and employment. This scheme will be taken forward with the cooperation of women associated with Uttar Pradesh Livelihood Mission.
Women will get new employment opportunities
The biggest feature of this scheme is the participation of women. Women of rural areas will be trained and prepared as Krishi Sakhi. These women will provide modern and useful information to the farmers and cowshed operators at the village level. At the state level, some women will be made master trainers, who will further train other women. With this, rural women are expected to get new opportunities for employment and self-reliance.
Organic farming will get a boost
The government also wants to include cow-based products and organic farming in this scheme. Special attention will be given to preparing organic fertilizer and other useful products from cow dung. This can also help in reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers and environmental protection.
Focus on rural development
Yogi government is continuously implementing new schemes regarding rural development and women empowerment. Krishi Sakhi Yojana is also being considered a big step in this direction. The government wants that women should not be limited to just self-help groups, but should become an important part of the agriculture and animal husbandry based economy. If this scheme is implemented effectively, then in the coming time, cow shelters in Uttar Pradesh can emerge not just as animal shelter centers but as major centers of rural development and employment.
