Big decisions of Bihar Cabinet, many important approvals ranging from direct jobs to players to tourism and road safety.
Patna: A total of 29 important proposals were approved in the Bihar Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. The impact of these decisions will be seen on many sectors of the state including sports, tourism, land management, mining, road safety and social welfare. The government says that these decisions will give impetus to development plans and create new opportunities for the youth.
Path to government job easy for players
The most important decision of the meeting was related to the direct appointment of excellent players. The Cabinet has approved the amended ‘Bihar Excellent Players Direct Appointment Rules-2026’. Under this, players who have performed remarkably at the national and international level will be given appointment in government service on the basis of their achievements.
According to the new system, Olympic medal winners, players who have represented India in the Olympics, members of the Indian cricket team and players who have won gold medals in the Asian and Commonwealth Games will be able to get appointment to posts in pay level-09. Different pay scales have also been set for other categories of players as per their achievements.
Relief to land transactions in satellite township
The state government has decided to partially relax the restrictions related to purchase, sale and lease of land in greenfield satellite township areas. Now, under special circumstances, Bihar State Housing Board, government institutions and authorized investors will be eligible to buy or lease land. The government believes that this step will boost investment and open new opportunities for employment generation.
Tourism and religious activities will get a boost
The Cabinet has approved the Chief Minister Home Stay Incentive Scheme-2026. The objective of this scheme is to promote rural and local tourism and to provide additional sources of income to the people. Along with this, Sindhu Darshan Pilgrimage Assistance Scheme has also got the green signal. It has been decided to extend the period of the free meditation center operated in Buddha Smriti Park for the next ten years.
Emphasis on mining, environment and road safety
Approval of Rs 2.32 crore has been given for sand recharge study in the major rivers of the state, Son, Kiul, Falgu, Morhar and Chanan. This study will be conducted through CMPDI. Also, to make the e-auction process of stone mining areas more effective, Bihar State Mining Corporation has been designated the nodal agency. With the aim of strengthening road safety, the proposal to implement Intelligent Traffic Management System on PPP model was also approved.
Financial and administrative support to institutions
The Cabinet has decided to provide Rs 21.95 crore to Bihar State Scheduled Caste Cooperative Development Corporation for settlement of old loans. Apart from this, amendment in Civil Defense Stenographer Rules and formation and registration of Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa Committee were also approved. The government claims that these decisions will increase administrative efficiency and give a new direction to development work.
