Lucknow. There is news of relief for the elderly of Uttar Pradesh. The state government has increased the amount of old age pension. Now eligible beneficiaries will get Rs 1,500 every month, whereas earlier this amount was Rs 1,000. According to this, the total pension payment in a year will be Rs 18,000.
Payment method also changed
The system of pension payment has also been changed from September 2026. The total amount of Rs 3,000 for three months is now being sent to the bank account in two installments of Rs 1,500-1,500 instead of being sent all at once. The amount is being transferred directly to the beneficiary's account through DBT.
Provision of Rs 1,500 crore in the budget
The government has also kept additional funds in the supplementary budget 2026-27 to provide pension to the elderly. An additional provision of Rs 1,500 crore has been made for the National Old Age Pension Scheme. The total additional provision for the Social Welfare Department is Rs 1,655 crore.
Correct documents are necessary for pension
To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is necessary to fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions. The information in the beneficiary's Aadhaar, bank account and other important records should be correct. Since the payment is made directly into the account, pension may get stuck if there is a mistake in the bank information.
If money does not come then check these things
If the pension amount has not reached the account, then first of all the status of e-KYC, Aadhar-Bank linking and NPCI mapping should be checked. Also check your bank account information. If the problem persists, the concerned social welfare department can be contacted by checking the pension status online.
