New Delhi20 May. An important meeting of the Union Council of Ministers is going to be held on Thursday as soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his visit to five countries. During this, the functioning of different ministries, major decisions and their consequences and future plans and other topics will be discussed. Official sources gave this information on Wednesday.
This meeting to be chaired by PM Modi will be attended by all cabinet ministers, ministers of state with independent charge and other ministers of state. Amid speculations of a cabinet reshuffle, this will be the first meeting of the Council of Ministers this year.
Government sources said the functioning of various ministries and departments, recent major decisions taken and their consequences and future plans will be discussed in the meeting. In this sequence, various aspects of various government schemes and programs, how to implement them for maximum success and other topics are also expected to be reviewed.
It is being told that during this meeting, the Prime Minister can mention the ongoing crisis in West Asia and its economic impacts and can give necessary guidelines to the ministries and departments to ensure minimum inconvenience to the citizens. According to sources, special attention can be given to sectors like energy, agriculture, fertilizers, aviation, shipping and logistics in the meeting.
Instructions to concerned ministries
It is noteworthy that soon after the conflict started in West Asia, PM Modi had directed all the concerned ministries to take all possible steps to address the problems of civilians and areas affected by the war. According to sources, the government’s priority to bring reforms in all sectors for the benefit of the general public is also likely to be discussed in the meeting.
