New Delhi. Just a day before the BRICS summit, important bilateral talks are going to take place between India and Russia. A meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin is proposed in New Delhi on September 11. In this meeting, many important issues including defense and technical cooperation between the two countries can be discussed.
Special attention will be kept on defense cooperation
Important talks regarding military cooperation are also expected during the Russian President's visit to India. The Kremlin has indicated that the issue of providing Russia's state-of-the-art Su-57 fighter aircraft to India may also be included in the agenda of discussion.
Emphasis on furthering BrahMos cooperation
The defense partnership between India and Russia has long been strong. Both the countries are working together in the field of BrahMos missile. Now there can be discussion on taking this cooperation further, increasing the capability of missiles and making them more effective.
The BRICS summit is to be held on 12 and 13 September. In such a situation, before that, this meeting of Modi-Putin is being considered very important in terms of strategic relations between the two countries.
