Big news for these teachers in UP, salary will increase!

Lucknow. An important news related to the education sector has come to light in Uttar Pradesh. The state government is now going to provide big relief to the part-time teachers working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV). Now a positive decision has been taken for these teachers, who have been demanding increase in honorarium for a long time, which will see a direct benefit in their income.

In fact, in the high-level meeting of Samagra Shiksha 3.0, it has been decided to increase the honorarium of part-time teachers. Till now these teachers used to get around Rs 9,961 per month after EPF deduction, but now there are preparations to increase it to Rs 17,000. About 2,000 teachers in the state and more than 5,500 across the country will benefit from this decision.

The special thing about this salary increase is that its expenses are jointly borne by the central and state governments. According to the fixed arrangement, 60 percent of the amount is given by the Central Government and 40 percent by the State Government. This will not only strengthen the financial condition of teachers but will also bring stability in the education system.

Shiksha Mitras-instructors already got relief

Before this, the government has also increased the honorarium of Shiksha Mitras and instructors. The salary of Shiksha Mitras was increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000, while the honorarium of instructors was increased from Rs 9,000 to Rs 17,000. This decision was announced on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, which has now been implemented.

Role of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya has been established especially with the aim of providing education to the girl students from the deprived and weaker section of the society. These schools operate mainly in backward development blocks and provide free accommodation, food and other necessary facilities to the girl students.

Earlier these schools were limited to classes 6 to 8, but now they are being expanded to class 12 in a phased manner. There are more than 700 such schools running in Uttar Pradesh, which are playing an important role in promoting girls’ education.
