Big opportunity for PGT teachers of Haryana! Education Department has announced recruitment for specialist posts.

Haryana: The education department has provided an important opportunity for the teachers working in government schools of Haryana. The department has started the process of appointments to the posts of District Science Specialist (DSS) and District Mathematics Specialist (DMS). The teachers selected on these posts will play an important role in improving science and mathematics education in their respective districts. Online applications have been invited from interested and eligible teachers.

According to the information released by the Education Department, 22 posts of District Science Specialist and 21 posts of District Mathematics Specialist will be filled. However, the department has also clarified that the number of posts can be changed as per the requirement. Only Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) working regularly in government schools of Haryana will be eligible to apply for these posts. Teachers of Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects can apply for the post of District Science Specialist, while PGTs of Mathematics subject will be eligible for the post of District Mathematics Specialist.

Special qualifications have been prescribed for application

The department has set some essential conditions for the teachers applying. The candidate must have at least five years of teaching experience in the relevant subject. Apart from this, good command over English language is also considered mandatory. Also, such teachers will not be able to apply against whom any kind of departmental inquiry, disciplinary action or charge sheet is pending. The objective of the department is to select qualified and experienced teachers, so that the education system can be further strengthened.

Selection will be done on the basis of 50 marks

A total process of 50 marks has been prescribed for selection on these posts. In this, first a written examination of 40 marks will be conducted. This exam will be mainly based on reasoning and analytical ability. In the written examination, 20 marks have been allotted for questions related to subject knowledge. Whereas 10 marks have been kept for questions related to analytical thinking and 10 marks for general awareness. The total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes.

Apart from this, an interview of 10 marks will also be conducted by the selection committee constituted at the headquarters level. The subject knowledge and efficiency of the candidates will be evaluated in the interview. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of both written examination and interview.

Selected teachers will get important responsibility

According to the department, the selected DSS and DMS will be appointed initially for three years. If their work performance is found satisfactory then this period can be extended by one more year. The responsibility of these experts will be to improve the quality of science and mathematics education in their district. Apart from this, he will also handle the work related to training of teachers, monitoring of educational activities and improvement in teaching methods.

Application deadline nears

The Education Department has kept the application process completely online. Interested teachers can apply through their MIS login. The link of the application has been made available on the portal of the concerned teachers. The department has fixed the last date for submission of applications as 19 June 2026 at 11:59 pm. In such a situation, eligible teachers have been advised to complete the application process on time.
