Big preparation of UP government: Will be implemented in all 75 districts
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is working rapidly on a new scheme to promote rural development, cow conservation and clean energy. The government is preparing to develop biogas based model villages in all 75 districts of the state in a phased manner. The aim of this initiative is to make villages self-reliant by linking cow conservation with organic farming and green energy.
IIT Delhi will provide technical support
Experts from IIT Delhi will provide technical support in this ambitious project. The expert team of the institute will provide technical assistance related to installation, operation and maintenance of biogas plants in the villages. Besides, training will also be given to the local people, so that the project can operate effectively in the long run.
Jhansi’s palinda will become a model village
Palinda village of Jhansi is being developed as a model model under this scheme. Many biogas plants are already operating here and the aim is to connect more and more families in the village with biogas. This will ease the availability of domestic fuel and will also promote organic farming. The government plans to implement this model in villages of other districts also.
Farmers will get big benefits
The slurry coming out of biogas plants will serve as high quality organic fertilizer for the farmers. This can reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and will also help in reducing the cost of farming. The use of organic fertilizers will not only improve the quality of the soil but will also promote environmental protection. This will give farmers an opportunity to adopt natural farming and there can be a possibility of getting better income as the demand for organic products increases.
Emphasis on self-reliant villages
The government wants to increase the use of clean energy in villages through this scheme. The use of biogas can play an important role as a domestic fuel as well as in environmental protection. This will lead to better utilization of cow dung and other organic waste and will also promote cleanliness in rural areas.
There will be expansion in the entire state
The government plans to extend this model to all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh in a phased manner. With its implementation, cow conservation, organic farming, clean energy and rural economy are expected to be strengthened simultaneously. If this scheme is successfully implemented, the villages of the state will be able to become more self-reliant in the field of energy and will also be able to take important steps towards environmental protection.
