India Germany Renewable Energy Platform Progress Update

The India–Germany Platform for Investments in Renewable Energy took a significant step forward today with a high-level review meeting of its Working Groups.

The session, co-chaired by Shri Santosh Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and Mr. Niels Annen, State Secretary, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany, focused on accelerating collaboration in clean energy manufacturing and deployment.

Both sides reviewed the progress achieved by the Working Groups on Solar Photovoltaics, Wind Energy, Biogas, and Energy Storage. The discussions highlighted ongoing advancements in technology, policy alignment, and investment opportunities across these priority sectors.

Reaffirming their shared vision for a sustainable future, India and Germany expressed strong commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.

The partnership is set to gain further momentum through enhanced focus on local manufacturing and large-scale deployment of renewable energy solutions — key drivers for energy security, economic growth, and climate action.

This platform continues to serve as a vital bridge for knowledge exchange, technology collaboration, and strategic investments between the two nations.
