Big revelation in NEET UG 2026 paper leak case, Physics teacher arrested

New Delhi: CBI has got another major success in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. The agency said on Friday that a physics teacher involved in the process of preparing question papers for the medical entrance examination has been arrested. The accused teacher is accused of leaking physics questions before the examination. After this arrest, the number of accused arrested in the case has increased to 11.

Identification of the arrested accused

According to CBI, the arrested accused has been identified as Manisha Sanjay Havildar, who is working at Seth Hiralal Saraf Prashala, Pune, Maharashtra. Investigation has revealed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) had included him as an expert in the examination process. For this reason he had direct access to the physics question papers.

The investigating agency claims that Manisha Havaldar had shared many confidential questions related to the examination in April 2026 with her colleague and co-accused Manisha Mandhare. CBI has already arrested Mandhare on 16 May. On the basis of interrogation and technical evidence, the agency has found evidence of exchange of questions between the two.

According to CBI officials, during the investigation, the leaked questions were matched with the actual Physics question paper of NEET UG 2026. The investigation found a lot of similarity between the two, after which the agency took action considering the role of the constable as suspicious. The agency believes that she could be an important link in the entire paper leak network.

As part of the investigation of the case, CBI has also conducted simultaneous raids in many cities of the country. During the search, many important documents, laptops, mobile phones and records related to bank accounts have been recovered. The seized electronic devices have been sent for forensic examination, so that it can be found out how big was the network of paper leak and which people played a role in it.

What did CBI tell?

CBI said that this case was registered on May 12, 2026 after a complaint by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. It was alleged in the complaint that the question paper of NEET UG 2026 exam was out even before the exam.

After the case was registered, CBI formed special investigation teams and conducted operations in many cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Pune, Nashik, Latur and Ahilyanagar. At present the agency is trying to reach the bottom of the entire network.
