Lucknow. Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana is being run by the government to promote the education and better future of daughters in Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, daughters of eligible families are given financial assistance at different stages from birth to higher education. Overall, a girl child can get help up to Rs 25 thousand.
Financial assistance is available in 6 stages
Under the scheme, the amount is given on the basis of the daughter's age and different stages of education. Its benefits are available in six stages.
On birth of daughter: Rs 5,000
Complete vaccination within a year: Rs 2,000
On admission to Class 1: Rs 3,000
Class 6 admission: Rs 3,000
Admission in Class 9: Rs 5,000
Admission to undergraduate or two-year diploma course: Rs 7,000
In this way, after completing all the prescribed steps, a total assistance of Rs 25,000 is available.
Who can take advantage of the scheme?
To avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, it is necessary for the family to be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, the annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 3 lakh. According to the rules of the scheme, there should normally be a maximum of two children in the family. There is a provision for relaxation under the rules in case of some special circumstances, such as twin daughters.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the eligible family has to apply online. Application can be made through the official portal of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana. After verification of the application and documents, the assistance amount is sent directly to the bank account of the eligible beneficiary through DBT.
