Big terrorist attack in Karachi: Rangers post targeted in Gulistan-e-Johar, area shaken by VBIED blast and grenade
Karachi: A very serious and big news is coming out from Karachi, the largest economic city of Pakistan. A major and well-planned terrorist attack has taken place on an important deployment/post of the paramilitary force ‘Rangers’ near Moosamiyat Chowringhee in the residential and busy Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi. The brutality of this high-profile attack this evening can be gauged from the fact that the attackers used a suicide car bomb or VBIED (Vehicle Borne Explosive Device) to target the security forces. Immediately after this horrific suicide blast, the terrorists threw several grenades at the Rangers camp and started firing indiscriminately in ambush.
According to initial reports, the VBIED blast was so powerful that its sound was heard several kilometers away and glass panes of nearby buildings were shattered. The blast and the heavy shelling that followed immediately caused panic and chaos in the entire Musamiyat Chowringhee area. As soon as information about the attack was received, additional contingents of Pakistan Army, Rangers and Police immediately reached the spot and sealed the entire Gulistan-e-Jauhar area from all sides. A large and intensive search operation (siege) is being conducted in the area by the security agencies to capture the terrorists dead or alive.
