Patna. A big step has been taken towards making the education system in Bihar modern and technology-based. Now the method of education in government schools of the state is going to change completely. The Education Department has started such an initiative, under which students will be given information about modern technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI), so that they can be prepared for future challenges.
Teachers are being given special training in AI
This change is being started with the training of teachers. State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has played an important role in this direction. A two-day training program named ‘AI Elevate for Educators’ was organized in Patna on 21st and 22nd April. The program was conducted in collaboration with Piramal Foundation and with the help of Microsoft’s global partner D Pedagogiques. 160 master facilitators from 10 districts of Bihar and experts from 27 teacher training institutes participated in it.
Expansion will be done through ‘train the trainer’ model
‘Train the Trainer’ model has been adopted to take this entire scheme forward. This means that the first selected master trainers are being given in-depth knowledge of AI. After this, these trained experts will train other government teachers in their respective districts. Then these teachers will teach children in schools the basic understanding of AI, its uses and skills related to digital technology. This will help in making the education system more practical and modern.
Other states were also studied
A special team of Bihar Education Department has studied many states of the country like Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam and Telangana to make this change more effective. During this, the education system, monitoring system and innovations there were understood. This team will present its detailed report on April 24, on the basis of which decisions will be taken on the new education policy and reforms in Bihar. All district education officers will also participate in this important meeting.
Steps towards technological change in education
It is clear from this initiative that the Bihar government is moving rapidly towards connecting government schools with digital and smart education system. By implementing technology like AI at the school level, students will not only get modern knowledge but will also be better prepared for future competition.
