Madhya Pradesh :- There is big news for patients and private hospitals who get free treatment under Ayushman Bharat Scheme. From October 1, the rules are going to be tightened in the four major metro cities of the state, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur.
The grace period of 6 months given to hospitals listed on the basis of entry level NABH is ending on September 30. After this, 'Full NABH' certificate will be mandatory to be associated with Ayushman Yojana in these cities. If this new standard is not met, the affiliation of 289 hospitals in the four cities may be lost.
Most serious impact in Bhopal
Its maximum impact can be seen in the capital Bhopal. A total of 163 NABH accredited hospitals are registered in Bhopal. Of these, only 24 hospitals have full NABH eligibility. The remaining 139 hospitals (about 85%) are still running on the initial i.e. 'entry level NABH'.
If these 289 hospitals are not able to obtain full NABH certificate under 'Scope of Service' by September 30, then they will be removed from the list of Ayushman Bharat scheme from October 1.
What has changed in the rules?
According to the specialty for which the hospital has received Ayushman recognition, it will be mandatory for it to present full NABH certificate. Apart from metro cities, the system of 'Entry Level NABH' will continue for hospitals in other districts of the state.
However, for this, a score of at least 70 points will have to be obtained in the District Quality Accreditation Assessment Committee (DQACC). In tribal areas, treatment facilities under Ayushman scheme will continue in hospitals without NABH recognition.
