Patna. The effect of monsoon now seems to be intensifying in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of the state. People have been advised to be cautious regarding heavy rain, storm and lightning in some districts in the coming days.
According to Meteorological Centre, Patna, there may be very heavy rains in some districts of the state on June 30. The weather is likely to be more active especially in the areas of North Bihar.
Danger of heavy rain in these districts
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there are chances of extremely heavy rains at some places in East Champaran, West Champaran and Gopalganj. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in districts like Darbhanga, Madhubani, Shivhar, Sitamarhi and Vaishali. People living in these areas have been advised to keep an eye on the weather.
Alert regarding strong wind and lightning
Along with rain, there is also a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning in many areas. Strong wind accompanied by thunder may occur in Arwal, Bhojpur and Buxar of South-Central Bihar. At the same time, there is a need to be cautious about strong winds and thunderstorms in some parts of North-East and South-East Bihar. Wind speed can reach 30 to 50 kilometers per hour at many places.
Be careful during rain and lightning
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert during bad weather. Avoid going to open places during lightning and thunder. If found in the open, immediately seek shelter in a safe place. Maintain distance from trees, electric poles and iron objects. Avoid weak structures and unsafe places during strong winds. Unplug electrical appliances when not needed.
