Bihar Board: Every year, whenever the results of board exams are announced, the heartbeats of lakhs of students increase. Many times, due to lack of modest marks, a single word written on the marksheet overshadows the entire future of the child. This red mark of failure not only breaks the morale of the student, but due to the taunts of family and society, many promising children fall prey to deep mental stress and depression. In view of this serious problem, the Education Department of Bihar has taken a very sensitive and revolutionary step. The state government has decided that now the word 'fail' will not be recorded on any matriculation and intermediate mark sheet.
Instead of 'fail', 'eligible for skills' will now be recorded.
Under this new decision of the Education Department, a new identity will now be given to those students who lag behind in achieving passing marks. Now 'Eligible for Skills' will be written on the results of such children. The government believes that scoring less marks in a book examination does not spoil the overall ability of any child. It may be possible that a student is weak in traditional subjects, but has excellent skills in technology, art, music or sports. Having positive words written on the mark sheet will instill confidence in the children that the paths are not closed in front of them, rather they can move forward on the basis of their skills.
Big decision taken in ministerial level review meeting
Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced this major change during a high-level review meeting held at Madan Mohan Auditorium of Vikas Bhawan. While talking to the officials, he said that it had become very important to change the old system which was discouraging the children. The Education Department will soon issue formal instructions in this regard to the Bihar School Examination Committee so that this new system can be implemented in the results of the upcoming examinations. The objective of the department is clear that every student should get full opportunity to progress and hone his skills in the field of his choice.
Students appearing for compartment exam will get the facility of special class.
The government is not only fulfilling its responsibility by changing the wording of the marksheet, but will also provide concrete help to the students to pass the examination. A one-month special coaching session will be conducted in schools for students who have to appear in compartment exams due to low marks in one or two subjects. During this, teachers will identify the weaknesses of the children and explain them in a simple manner. This will remove the fear of examination from the minds of children and they will be able to appear in the examination again with better preparation. This initiative will prove to be very helpful for those students who lag behind in the absence of a little guidance.
A grand stage will be decorated in Patna on Teacher's Day
In this meeting, many important points related to the welfare and respect of students as well as teachers were also discussed. On the occasion of Teacher's Day on coming September 5, a state level grand function will be organized at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna. This special program will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and both the Deputy Chief Ministers will also be present along with him. Through this platform, 'Teacher Support Portal' will be started to assist teachers and resolve their complaints quickly.
Excellent teachers and children will be honored
During the Teachers' Day celebrations, the best teachers selected from every district of the state will be awarded state honours. Apart from this, children from ten selected model schools of Patna have also been invited to participate in this event. Experts from various teacher training institutes will also be present on this occasion. At the end of the meeting, the Education Minister reviewed the entire budget and expenditure of the department. He gave strict instructions to the officials that no scheme should be limited to papers only and the proper use of public money should be visible directly at the ground level.
