Bihar News: The government has taken an important step towards accelerating the development of cities and simplifying the processes related to building construction. In Patna on Saturday, 5 September 2026 Bihar Building Bye-laws-2026 A meeting of a group of high level ministers was held on the draft. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. Many issues related to simplifying building construction rules, speeding up the approval process and making urban development more accessible were discussed.

Various provisions of the proposed building bye-laws were considered in detail in the meeting. The Government aims to create a system in which building permission and other regulatory processes are simpler, transparent and faster. This is expected to provide convenience to the people as well as builders and investors.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary expressed his gratitude for the suggestions and cooperation of all the stakeholders. He said that the active participation of ministers, Urban Development and Housing Department and department officials and suggestions received from stakeholders will help in making Bihar Building Bye-laws-2026 more effective and public utility.

He said that these rules being prepared in accordance with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary's vision of developed Bihar can give impetus to building construction and investment. Ministers of many departments were present in the meeting
Information and Public Relations and Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar, Cooperation Minister Ramkripal Yadav, Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra and Public Health Engineering Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh were present in the meeting.
Vinay Kumar, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, gave a detailed presentation of the draft of Bihar Building Bye-laws-2026 before the ministers and other stakeholders. He informed about the proposed rules, provisions to simplify the regulatory processes and make building construction and urban development effective.

Department Secretary cum BUDCO Managing Director Animesh Parashar, Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Yashpal Meena and senior officials of the department were present in the meeting. Apart from this, representatives of CREDAI Bihar, Bihar Industries Association, Builders Association, Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries and flat owners also participated in the meeting.
According to the government, efforts are being made to further improve the Building Bye-laws-2026, keeping in mind the suggestions from all parties. With the implementation of new and simple rules, building construction, investment and infrastructure development in the cities of Bihar is expected to get new momentum.
