Patna: Bihar chief minister Samrat Choudhary has announced the allocation of portfolios in the newly formed Bihar cabinet, ending speculation following the swearing-in ceremony.

According to the official list released by the government, the Chief Minister has retained some of the most important departments, including General Administration, Home, Cabinet Secretariat, Vigilance, Election and Civil Aviation.

He will also supervise all departments that have not been allocated to any other minister.

Deputy CMs Get Major Responsibilities

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary has been assigned the Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs departments.

Meanwhile, another Deputy CM, Bijendra Prasad Yadavwill handle the Finance and Commercial Taxes departments, both considered crucial for the state’s economic administration.

Nishant Kumar Given Health Department

One of the most discussed decisions in the cabinet reshuffle is the appointment of Nishant Kumar as the Health Minister. The move has already triggered political debate in Bihar.

At the same time, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal has been entrusted with the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.

Agriculture, Rural Development and Construction Portfolios Announced

Senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sinha has been given charge of the Agriculture Department.

Shravan Kumar will oversee Rural Development along with Information and Public Relations, while Leshi Singh has been assigned the Building Construction Department.

The Cooperative Department has been allocated to Ram Kripal Yadav.

Focus on Development and Infrastructure

The new cabinet also places significant emphasis on infrastructure and urban development. Nitish Mishra has been entrusted with Urban Development, Housing and Information Technology. Kumar Shailendra will lead the Road Construction Department, while Damodar Rawat has been assigned the Transport Department.

Industry, Sports and Education Ministries Finalized

In another important move, Shreyasi Singh has been given the Industries and Sports departments.

Mohammad Zama Khan will handle Minority Welfare, while Mithilesh Tiwari has been made Education Minister. The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department has been allocated to Ramchandra Prasad.
