34 senior IAS officers get command of districts in Bihar, now development plans will be decided on the spot
Bihar News: Bihar government has taken a big administrative decision to speed up the pace of development schemes in the state and to test the ground reality of public welfare programmes. With the aim of further strengthening the administrative system, the government has appointed 34 senior officers as secretaries in charge of different districts.
There is a lot of hustle and bustle in the administrative corridor.
An official order in this regard has been issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Department. Due to this step of the government, the commotion in the administrative corridor has intensified. It is believed that after this decision, delays in government schemes will be curbed and benefits will directly reach the general public.
Senior officers were fielded
Under this new order, highly experienced and senior officers of the state have been fielded. IAS officers of Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Secretary level have been included in this. The government has directed all these officers to regularly visit the districts under their charge and take stock of the development works going on there. The thinking of the government behind this big change is that when the senior officers sitting in the headquarters themselves go and camp in the districts, then the local level problems will be resolved immediately.
There will be strict monitoring of development plans
This time the Bihar government has made the role of in-charge secretaries very important and accountable. It has been clearly stated by the government that these officers will not only do paper review, but will also go on the ground and monitor government programmes.
Projects will have to be reviewed
The secretaries in charge will have to regularly review the projects related to Seven Nishchay Yojana, Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan, road construction, health facilities and education in their respective districts. Apart from this, even during natural disasters like flood or drought, these officers will have to stay in their districts and take command of relief operations.
coordination will have to be established
To make the governance system transparent, these officers will have to work in coordination with the District Magistrates and other local officials of the districts. The government believes that sometimes big schemes get stalled due to lack of coordination at the district level. Now the Secretary in-charge will work directly as a strong link between the state government and the district administration, which will speed up the disposal of files.
Deployed in big districts including Patna and Nalanda
In the new list released by the government, the responsibility of many important districts has been handed over to very tough and experienced officers. The most important responsibility of the capital Patna has been given to Vinay Kumar. Patna is the most important district of the state, hence it is a big challenge to complete the development works here on time. Whereas the command of Chief Minister’s home district Nalanda has been handed over to Kumar Ravi. Kumar Ravi has had long experience of working in Patna and other districts in the past, which will benefit the development work of Nalanda.
