Big decision of Samrat government on government schools of Bihar, big announcement of recruitment of 1 lakh teachers

Bihar News: On the second day of the monsoon session of Bihar Legislature, the issue of acute shortage of teachers in the state’s education system and especially in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential Schools was raised loudly. Members of both the ruling party and the opposition raised sharp questions on the vacant posts in schools, lack of basic facilities and the falling level of education of children. After this entire discussion, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary considered the matter very sensitive and directed the Education Department to take immediate action, while the Education Minister placed before the House the complete blueprint for the reinstatement of one lakh teachers in the coming five years.

The issue of 62 percent vacancies in Ambedkar schools was raised.

During the proceedings of the House, JDU MLA Shyam Rajak raised the issue of the poor condition of Dr. BR Ambedkar schools. He said that about 62 percent of the posts of teachers are lying vacant in these schools. When most of the posts remain vacant then how will children from poor families get quality education. He demanded from the government that a fixed time limit should be set to fill these vacant posts so that the future of the children is not spoiled.

The government gave details of the current situation

Answering this question, the concerned minister Lakhendra Kumar clarified the situation. He told that at present 91 Dr. BR Ambedkar schools are running in the state, in which a total of 3,456 teachers are working. There are 1,456 sanctioned posts at the secondary level and 950 sanctioned posts at the higher secondary level, on which 1,290 teachers are posted. The minister said that to fill the remaining vacancies, the proposal for vacancies under TRE-4 is being sent to Bihar Public Service Commission.

Chief Minister is strict, alternative arrangements will be made within a month

The Chief Minister himself intervened on the shortage of teachers and said that this issue is very serious and the concern of the MLA is absolutely right. The CM directed the Education Department that where immediate permanent appointment is not possible, the availability of teachers on deputation basis within a month should be ensured at all costs, so that the daily studies of the children are not affected.

Opposition raised questions on basic facilities

On the other hand, RJD MLA Kumar Sarvjeet expressed concern over the level of primary education. He said that the situation is such that even children who reach sixth class do not know the basic things. In many places, one thousand children are forced to study in two-room schools. He suggested that a special meeting of all the MLAs should be called in the Central Hall to review the reasons why poor children of Bihar are not getting good education. Along with this, he also mentioned Jal Jeevan Hariyali Mission.

Land problem and solution for high schools

It was also raised in the House that the government had decided to open high schools in every panchayat, but till now land has not been available for about 600 to 700 schools. Schools are being run in these places on a makeshift basis. It was assured by the government that in schools which do not have their own land, land will be made available within the next 6 months.

1 lakh teachers will be appointed

At the end of the discussion, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari assured the House that the state government is fully committed to improving the level of education. He announced that one lakh teachers will be appointed in the state in the next five years. He informed that taking the TRE-4 recruitment process forward, the proposal for vacancies will be sent to BPSC in the last week of this month. The aim of the government is to strengthen the education system of the state by filling the vacant posts as soon as possible.
