New Delhi, 21 July 2026: Congress party has started a massive protest demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding the NEET paper leak. Prominent leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi marched from Parliament to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. These leaders initially gathered on Rajaji Marg. Many leaders were detained after sloganeering.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the people of the country to join the protest to be organized outside the Prime Minister’s residence. He said that our students deserve justice and the attack on them is an attack on every Indian family. He rejected Union Minister Jitendra Singh’s demand to withdraw the protest and decided to continue it.
We will not withdraw our protest: Nasir Hussain
Congress MP Syed Nasir Hussain said, “He (Jitendra Singh) wanted us to withdraw our protest, but we did not do so because our demands were not satisfied. We want Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign and the issue of paper leak should be discussed in Parliament. More MPs, Congress workers and members of the general public will join our protest.”
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said that until his demands are accepted, he will not leave the protest site and will remain there throughout the night. Congress has presented three demands before the government. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has called upon the people of the country to join the protest; He has strongly said that students should get justice and the attack on students is an attack on every Indian family.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh has arrived to meet Rahul Gandhi who is protesting near the Prime Minister’s residence and is currently talking to him. Meanwhile, the police arrested Kanhaiya Kumar, Charanjit Singh Channi and K. Many Congress leaders including Suresh have been detained.
Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, K.C. Many senior leaders including Venugopal and Pawan Kheda had protested near the Prime Minister’s residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. He had demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the issue of alleged atrocities on young students. Meanwhile, the Congress workers who were shouting slogans were detained by the police.

Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet, “We have marched to Prime Minister Modi’s residence to get answers about the atrocities committed on students yesterday. The government neither wants to accept responsibility nor wants to discuss the issue in Parliament.” He demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister and said that the government is ruining the future of the youth of India.
