He said that the government is working on restarting closed sugar mills and connecting farmers, youth and women with cooperatives.
New sugar complexes will be built in Sakri and Raiyam
Under the government's seven decisions-3, a new cooperative sugar mill will be built on the land of the closed sugar mill at Sakri in Madhubani and at Raiyam in Darbhanga. Ideal Sugar Complex Will be made. These projects will be set up and operated through India Potash Limited.
Along with sugar mills, power generation plants, distilleries and compressed biogas plants will also be set up. A cooperative sugar mill committee is being formed by combining sugarcane producing farmers. For this, applications have been invited through the portal and till now 10,000 to 15,000 farmers Has applied.
New cooperative policy will provide employment opportunities
The minister said that to modernize the cooperative movement in Bihar Bihar State Cooperative Policy-2026 is applied. Under this, traditional cooperative institutions will be strengthened with technology, digital system, transparent administration and better management.
In the new policy, emphasis will be laid on forming and expanding cooperative societies in non-traditional areas also. There is a plan to promote self-reliance and employment by connecting youth, women, farmers, entrepreneurs and deprived sections with cooperatives.
Vegetable booths will open like Sudha

This will increase the income of farmers and will also create new employment opportunities at the local level.
Farmers benefit from crop insurance from Rabi

Under this, there will be a system of giving compensation to farmers equal to their agricultural costs. Farmers will have to pay less premium, while the central and state governments will also contribute their share in the premium.
Through 6,902 committees in Kharif 2025-26 36.79 lakh metric tons of paddy from 5.40 lakh farmers bought out. At the same time, in the cooperative societies of the state 7,452 warehouses have been built, which has created a storage capacity of 18.827 lakh metric tons.
Banking and other services will increase in villages
To increase banking services in rural areas, 186 milk cooperative societies, 618 PACS, 19 primary vegetable producer societies and seven other societies have been made Bank Mitras. Preparation of 300 types of services in PACS

100 farmers became producer organizations
