Bihar News: The Bihar government’s Arts and Culture Department will launch the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign across the state from August 9 to 17, 2026. The campaign aims to ensure that the national flag reaches every household, the tricolor is hoisted in as many homes and institutions as possible, and public participation. Special events will also be held to mark the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,” ensuring adherence to the Flag Code.
Every block will get a budget of Rs 1 lakh
To ensure the success of the campaign, the state government has made special financial arrangements. Each of Bihar’s 534 blocks will receive one lakh rupees to purchase national flags . Each block will purchase approximately 4,000 tricolors . This will provide approximately 21.36 lakh national flags across the state.
These tricolours will be distributed through Gram Panchayats, Jeevika Self Help Groups (SHGs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and other local institutions, so that the national flag can easily reach every household.
There will be several special events during the campaign.
To make the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign a celebration of public participation, several events will be organized at the state and district levels. These will include door-to-door tricolor distribution, tricolor marches, bike and bicycle rallies, mass singing of “Vande Mataram ,” exhibitions, tricolor rangoli competitions, cultural programs, tricolor illumination on government buildings, and “selfie with the tricolor.”
Chief Secretary gave special instructions to the districts
Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit has issued several important instructions to all district magistrates for the successful conduct of the campaign. He has directed that all blocks purchase the tricolors on time and ensure their distribution down to the Panchayat level. Additionally, the campaign should be reviewed daily and progress reports should be sent to the department.
He has also given instructions to ensure active participation of local public representatives, voluntary organizations, livelihood groups, PACS, schools, colleges, NCC , NSS , Mera Yuva Bharat , sports clubs and business organizations.
A grand Tiranga Yatra will be held on August 12.
As part of the campaign, a grand Tiranga Yatra will be organized in all districts on August 12, 2026, with participation from every section of society . A special campaign will be launched in areas bordering the international border, with the goal of hoisting the tricolor 100% on every household.
Government’s emphasis on creating a mass movement
Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit stated that “Har Ghar Tiranga” is not just a government program, but a national campaign involving public participation. He asked all district magistrates to ensure that the tricolor is hoisted with full respect and adherence to the Flag Code in every home, government office, school, and public institution across the state.
The government believes that through this campaign, the spirit of patriotism will be further strengthened on the occasion of Independence Day and more and more people will be connected with the respect and importance of the national flag.
