Patna. Monsoon seems to be active once again in Bihar. On the third Monday of Sawan, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding rain for all 38 districts of the state. In many areas, there may be heavy rain along with wind speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of lightning at some places.
Yellow and orange alert in many districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia and Katihar.
There is orange alert in many districts including Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui and Banka. The weather is likely to be worse in these areas.
More impact of rain in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall activities may remain relatively high in Gaya, Nawada and Jamui. People living in orange alert districts have been advised to take special precautions. It would be better to avoid open spaces and under trees during bad weather.
Weather changed due to system formed in Bay of Bengal
The main reason for the change in weather is believed to be the low pressure area formed near the Bay of Bengal and West Bengal-Odisha coast. The cyclonic circulation associated with it is also active. Due to the possibility of it moving in the north-west direction, rain activities may increase in Bihar.
Rain will continue on 18th and 19th August also
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of rain may continue in Bihar even on August 18. There will be yellow alert in many districts and orange alert in other areas. Yellow alert has been issued for all parts of the state on August 19. During this period, the weather may remain more active in some areas of western and northern Bihar. There is a possibility of drop in temperature due to continuous rain. This can provide relief to people from the heat and humidity that has been going on for the last few days.
