Bisleri’s initiative on World Environment Day; More than 40 thousand citizens participated in Maharashtra-Goa
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Bisleri International made a massive effort to create awareness against plastic pollution by implementing various environmental friendly activities in Maharashtra and Goa. More than 40 thousand citizens participated in the programs organized under the company’s Bottles for Change campaign. In Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Goa, citizens were given the message of environmental conservation through cleanliness drives, plastic waste collection, public awareness programs and artistic activities.

Citizens, students, educational institutions, industry representatives and various social organizations were brought together under this initiative. Special emphasis was placed on creating awareness about sorting, collection and recycling of plastic waste. The need for collective efforts to reduce plastic pollution was highlighted. In Mumbai, Bisleri, in association with Bhamla Foundation, created a stunning piece of art ‘Wings of Change’ made from 2,000 used PET bottles at Carter Road. Highlighting the importance of recycling and circular economy, this artwork became an effective message of environmental protection. Citizens looked at this work of art with special interest.
Bisleri International’s Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs K. Ganesh said on this occasion that collective participation is very necessary for environmental conservation. Through the *Bottles for Change* initiative, efforts are being made to bring about long-term positive change in the citizens and continuous work is being done at various levels to promote the recycling of plastic waste.
The message of plastic sorting and recycling was conveyed to more than 35 thousand citizens through door-to-door campaigns in Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mira Road areas. Also awareness stalls were set up at Mira Road. Guided visits to the Resource Recovery and Sustainability Inspiration Center were organized for students to learn about how plastic waste is recycled.
Awareness and plastic collection campaigns were implemented in Pune with the participation of various companies, educational institutions and local communities. More than 4,500 citizens participated in these activities. In addition, more than 750 kg of plastic waste was collected through campaigns conducted in collaboration with SCERT and other partners.

In Nagpur, the message of plastic waste management was conveyed to over 1,500 citizens through community oriented activities and a special stall on Walkers Street. While in Goa, more than 200 students and citizens spontaneously participated in the cleanliness drives organized in Panaji and Harwale. Bisleri’s Bottles for Change initiative has so far reached over 1 crore people across the country. This initiative is continuously working to create awareness about plastic sorting, collection and recycling and is trying to broaden the collective participation movement for environmental conservation.
