BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi’s ‘traitor’ statement, says ‘terrorist-like language’
New Delhi: A statement by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has heated up the political atmosphere. BJP has strongly retaliated against his comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and RSS. BJP leaders say that Rahul Gandhi’s language is like that of Pakistan and terrorists. He called the Congress leader’s statement an insult to democracy.
Controversial statement was given in Rae Bareli
Rahul Gandhi was addressing Congress workers in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He said that when RSS workers talk about Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, they should answer that your Prime Minister is a traitor, your Home Minister is a traitor and your organization is a traitor. Rahul alleged that RSS and BJP have attacked the Constitution, the ideas of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.
Sharp attack by BJP leaders
After this statement of Rahul Gandhi, BJP opened its front. Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Rahul Gandhi’s language has become like that of an enemy country. He said that the people and youth of the country are standing with PM Modi and Amit Shah.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that Rahul Gandhi’s language is like that of Pakistan-backed terrorists. Bhandari alleged that Rahul was behaving not like a political opponent but like a person fighting against the Indian state.
CM Yogi apologized publicly
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also targeted Rahul Gandhi. He wrote on the social media platform Yogi demanded a public apology from Rahul Gandhi to the entire country.
Anurag Thakur said, Congress attacked democracy
BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that Congress is weakening the Constitution. Referring to the Emergency, he said that the biggest attack on democracy took place during the Congress rule. Thakur said that RSS has always been working in the interest of the country. Using derogatory language against BJP and Sangh has become an old habit of Congress.
