'BJP is doing not good, goonda governance', Abhishek Banerjee's allegation, attack on office

Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee's Camac Street office in Kolkata was vandalized on Thursday morning. The attackers came wearing masks. He has claimed that the employees deployed for office security were also assaulted. Abhishek Banerjee has also shared a CCTV footage related to this. Many people are seen reaching the office by lift and causing vandalism.

Abhishek Banerjee has written in the caption of the video that this is 'Gunda Governance'. This is a shameful attack on the rule of law. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has clearly denied any connection with this incident. Police have detained 6 people in the case and started investigation.

What allegations has Abhishek Banerjee made?

Abhishek Banerjee wrote on social media, 'At around 4.30 am on Thursday, armed BJP goons forcibly entered my party office in Kolkata. Security personnel were attacked and their mobile phones were snatched. Office furniture and electronic instruments were broken.

Abhishek Banerjee also claimed that despite calling the police several times after the incident, no help was received. He also raised questions on the role of the state administration and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and strict action.

What has BJP said on the allegations?

BJP has completely rejected Trinamool's allegations. BJP MLA from Baranagar Sajal Ghosh said that BJP has nothing to do with this incident. He alleged that Trinamool Congress has planted this to remain in the headlines. He questioned why Trinamool Congress workers were present in that office at 4.30 pm, this should also be investigated.

What came to light in the police investigation?

Police have so far detained 6 people in the incident. Investigation has been started on the basis of CCTV footage, statements of eyewitnesses and evidence found from the spot. Police are trying to find out how the attackers entered the office, whether they had any weapon or not. Whether there was any planned instruction or plan behind the attack or not. Nothing has been known yet.

Why politics regarding Camac Street?

This office on Camac Street has been at the center of political controversy for the last few days. Last Thursday, Municipal Corporation officials had come to this office to open the board of Trinamool Congress. An FIR was registered against several Trinamool leaders including Abhishek Banerjee on charges of obstructing government work. Abhishek Banerjee was also interrogated in this case.

 

Fire brigade and police teams reached this building on Monday. It was investigated whether any illegal construction took place outside the prescribed plan while constructing the building. Whether the fire extinguishing system is correct or not. There are also allegations against Abhishek Banerjee that he has forcibly taken possession of two floors and has built an office there. Now a new clash has come to light amid the controversies.
