BJP leads in West Bengal, tough fight with TMC continues

Assembly Election Results 2026: Counting of votes is going on for 293 assembly seats of West Bengal and initial trends have started emerging. According to the trends so far, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 seats. The results will also start coming out by afternoon.

Let us tell you that elections were conducted in two phases in the state. The first phase was completed on 23 April and the second phase was completed on 29 April. After the end of voting, counting of votes is going on today.

On one hand, Mamata Banerjee is contesting the elections to save her chair, while on the other hand, BJP is eyeing the power of the state. Now it has to be seen whose government is formed in West Bengal this time.

Trinamool Congress leading on 14 seats

According to the trends released till 10 am, BJP is leading on 36 seats in West Bengal. Whereas Trinamool Congress is leading on 14 seats. Apart from this, Bharatiya Gorkha Democratic Front is leading on one seat.

Crossed the mark of 100 seats

According to the ongoing trends in Tamil Nadu, actor Vijay’s party TVK has touched the mark of 100 seats and seems to be getting closer to majority. However, these are only initial trends and no official results have been declared by the Election Commission yet.

BJP ahead in Jhargram, Monteshwar and Asansol

BJP leading on 162 seats

BJP is leading on 162 seats in West Bengal. At the same time, TMC is leading on 121 seats.

Counting of votes begins in five states

Counting of votes has started for the assembly elections held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. The results of the assembly elections held in these five states will be revealed today itself. It is noteworthy that assembly elections were held in West Bengal in two phases, for which voting was held on 23rd and 29th April. Assembly elections were held in Tamil Nadu on 23 April and in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry on 9 April.

BJP ahead on 11 out of 15 seats

According to the trends of 15 seats released by the Election Commission in West Bengal, BJP is leading on 11 seats, while Gorkha Morcha and TMC are leading on 2 seats each.

There is a tough competition between the trends in West Bengal.

There is a close contest in the trends between BJP and TMC in West Bengal. According to preliminary data, TMC is leading on 58 seats, BJP on 60 seats and Congress on 2 seats. Whereas in Howrah, TMC is leading on 5 seats, while in Cooch Behar, BJP is leading on all 9 seats.

Atmosphere outside AIADMK office in Chennai

Initial trends have emerged from Kerala. Out of total 27 seats, DMK alliance is leading on 15 seats, while UDF is leading on 10 seats, while BJP is leading on 2 seats. In the initial trends itself, the DMK alliance has gained a strong hold.

Initial trends for 5 seats in Tamil Nadu have come out. Of these, DMK is leading on 3 seats, while AIADMK is leading on 1 seat. TVK has also gained lead on 1 seat. DMK’s performance seems strong in the initial trends.

The first trend has emerged after counting from Assam also. Here trends have emerged for 4 seats and BJP is leading on all four. At the same time, Congress has not yet taken lead on any seat.

The initial trends have emerged from West Bengal. In the trend of North Bengal, TMC is leading from Chopra and Islampur, while BJP is leading from Mathabanga and Alipurduar. In the initial trends of 12 seats, BJP is leading on 8 seats and TMC is leading on 4 seats.
