Congress led UDF touches majority mark in Kerala! Pinarayi Vijayan’s departure finalized

Kerala Election Result: As the counting of votes for the assembly elections in Kerala intensifies, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) is on the rise; From the initial trends, the opposition alliance seems to be getting a clear lead. After the initial few rounds of counting, UDF has crossed the majority mark. In such a situation, the departure of CM Pinarayi Vijayan is considered certain.

In the vote counting trends till 11 am, the United Democratic Front (UDF) was leading in 96 of the 140 assembly seats in Kerala, while the ruling CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) was leading in only 42 seats. According to television reports, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was ahead in only 2 seats. In such a situation, there are clear signs of change of power in Kerala.

The trends also indicated setbacks for the ruling coalition, with at least a dozen ministers trailing in their respective constituencies. Initially, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was trailing in his traditional stronghold Dharmadam in Kannur district.
