Punjab BJP president Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon on Wednesday paid obeisance at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo and prayed for the welfare of all, communal harmony, peace and prosperity of Punjab.

During his visit, Dhillon expressed gratitude before the Almighty and sought blessings for the continued progress and well-being of the state. The management of Gurdwara Sahib honored him with a Siropa on the occasion.

Dhillon also paid obeisance at Bunga Mastuana Sahib in Talwandi Sabo.

Speaking to mediapersons, Dhillon said his visit to the historic Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, associated with Guru Gobind Singh Ji, provided him spiritual strength and peace. He said he prayed for Punjab to remain in Chardi Kala and witness lasting peace, harmony and development.

Highlighting initiatives of the BJP-led Central Government, Dhillon said several steps had been taken for the benefit of the Sikh community. He particularly mentioned the project to connect Takht Sri Damdama Sahib with the railway network at an estimated cost of around ₹1,100 crore.

He said Takht Sri Damdama Sahib was the only one among the five Sikh Takhts that was not directly connected by rail. Once completed, the project would connect all five Takhts through the railway network and make pilgrimage easier for devotees from across India and abroad.

Dhillon further said the Bharatiya Janata Party was committed to providing governance in Punjab based on the principles of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Sarkar-e-Khalsa. He expressed confidence that such an approach would help address the state’s challenges and restore prosperity.

Senior BJP leaders Dayal Singh Sodhi, district president Gurpreet Singh Maluka, Parampal Kaur Maluka, Jagdeep Singh Nakai and Swaroop Chand Singla, along with other party workers, were present during the visit.
