Responding to this, TMC wrote on Twitter that ‘After the rape threats and derogatory cartoon propaganda, now BJP has stooped to openly issuing death threats against Mamata Banerjee. The Election Commission is sitting silent on this, remaining a silent and complicit spectator. This is the change BJP wants for Bengal. They want to impose their shoot and knock culture on the streets of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in Bengal.
After rape threats and the circulation of vile, derogatory caricatures, BJP has now stopped to issuing open DEATH THREATS against Smt. @MamataOfficial.

Ruckus over BJP spokesperson’s post
TMC cited the post of BJP spokesperson Alok Ajay, in which he had written that ‘If you try to scare us, you will be shot, didi.’ The party said this shows the attitude of the BJP towards Mamata Banerjee, who is the three-time elected Chief Minister of West Bengal. TMC said that ‘this culture of threats and pressure has been approved from the top level of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. If they speak like this about Didi, then one shudders to think what havoc these saffron goons will wreak on the common mothers and daughters of Bengal? But remember these words. Bengal does not forget. Bengal does not forgive. This insult and threat against our daughter will not be answered with words, but with votes. Bengal will raise its voice on May 4.
BJP spokesperson Alok Ajay rejected TMC’s claims and said that they have distorted their views. He said, don’t you people know Hindi? Don’t pretend to be a victim. The shoot and run culture is yours, not ours. Don’t try to intimidate people with your goons. The sun rises in the east, for the people of Bengal and India, and you are all on the path to destruction.’
