Kolkata, 09 October 2026: BJP has won a big victory in the by-elections held for Nandigram and Rejinagar assembly seats in Bengal. In Nandigram, party candidate Hasirani Rath won by a margin of 1,22,753 votes, while in Muslim-dominated Rejinagar constituency, BJP's Shakhrabh Sarkar won by 75,748 votes.
It is noteworthy that the Muslim population in Rejinagar constituency is about 74 percent. Given this, BJP's victory here is considered very important from the political point of view.
