New Delhi: The political temperature is high after the Legislative Council elections of four states. Let us tell you, voting was done through ballot paper on a total of 28 seats in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Karnataka. There are assembly elections in UP next year, so the results here are being seen like semi-finals. If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, the results of 10 out of 11 seats have come.
BJP has won 6 seats while SP has won 4 seats. Most of the attention is on Varanasi Graduate seat, where SP candidate is leading. Before this, BJP has also lost the teacher seat of Banaras. The talk of SP's victory in Lucknow has intensified due to two consecutive shocks in PM Modi's parliamentary constituency.
Akhilesh's reply to Modi's statement
Meanwhile, PM Modi has taken a dig at the results and said that elections were held through ballot on 28 seats in four states, guess how many seats Congress won? In response, Akhilesh Yadav said that after the defeat in Banaras, BJP is nervous and the leaders of Lucknow are not picking up the calls from Delhi. Congress also reiterated its demand for holding elections through ballot paper.
Jan Suraj's entry in Bihar
Out of 8 seats in Bihar, NDA got 4 seats. One seat each went to Jan Suraj and RJD, while two were won by independents. Old faces lost on all four seats of teacher quota. RJD's Sanjeev Kumar defeated BJP's Naval Kishore Yadav, who had been holding the Patna teacher seat for 30 years. In Darbhanga, Suresh Rai of Jan Suraj defeated Madan Mohan Jha of Congress.
Condition of Maharashtra-Karnataka
Among the 5 seats in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena's Kiran Sarnaik won from Amravati, BJP's Kaustubh Gawde from Pune Teacher, NCP-SP's Harshada Deshmukh from Pune Graduate and Congress's Abhijeet Vanjari won from Nagpur. Despite being in power in Karnataka, Congress did not get a single seat, all four seats were won by the BJP-JDS alliance.
