This model is part of BMW's new F 450 series and has been designed keeping in mind the riders who want a light and easy-to-handle bike with strong performance.
The BMW F 450 R has a 420cc parallel-twin engine. This engine generates maximum power of 48 HP and torque of 43 Nm. The bike weighs around 175 kg, making it designed to be used on urban roads as well as curvy roads.
420cc engine and 48 HP power
The 420cc parallel-twin engine of the BMW F 450 R produces 48 HP of maximum power at 8,750 rpm, while the peak torque of 43 Nm is available at 6,750 rpm. According to BMW, the engine makes around 80 percent of its maximum torque available at around 3,000 rpm. This can be beneficial especially while riding at low and mid-range speeds.
According to the company, the fuel efficiency of the bike is around 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers. It has a fuel tank of 14 liters, based on which an estimated range of more than 350 kilometers can be found in a single tank. Actual range will depend on riding style, traffic and road conditions.
Three riding modes and advanced safety features
Rain, Road and Dynamic riding modes have been provided in BMW F 450 R as per the need of the rider. For safety, electronic features like ABS Pro, Traction Control and Dynamic Brake Control are available as standard. BMW's Shift Assistant Pro is also available in the bike, through which gears can be shifted without using the clutch.
However, this feature is not standard in the base variant. Apart from this, the option of Easy Ride Clutch is also given. With its use, the rider reduces the need to use the clutch lever while starting, stopping and changing gears.
6.5 inch TFT display and premium features
Talking about the features, BMW F 450 R has a 6.5 inch TFT instrument display, LED lighting and USB-C charging port. The bike also has the option of heated grips, which can be useful during long distance riding in cold weather. The BMW F 450 R is built on a steel tube frame. The engine is also part of the chassis structure, which helps balance the weight and packaging of the bike.
The suspension setup includes 43 mm KYB USD fork at the front and KYB monoshock at the rear. At the front, Brembo's 4-piston caliper and 310 mm disc is available. The bike has 17-inch tires installed on both the wheels. The standard seat height is 790 mm. According to need, it can be adjusted to 775 mm or 810 mm through accessories. This allows the bike's ergonomics to be better adapted to riders of different heights.
BMW F 450 R introduced in four variants

BMW Motorrad has introduced the F 450 R in four variants including Base, Exclusive, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package. Easy Ride Clutch is available factory-fitted in the top variants, while it can be opted as an accessory in other variants. This bike can compete with bikes like KTM 390 Duke, Aprilia Tuono 457 and Kawasaki Z500 in the 400-500cc naked motorcycle segment.
The BMW F 450 R has currently been introduced globally. There has been no official announcement regarding its launch date and price in India yet. Therefore, its availability, price and possible specifications in the Indian market will be confirmed only after the official announcement of the company.
