Nix and Hufanga Answer Early Struggles
Bo Nix refused to let a difficult first half define his night, and Talanoa Hufanga maintained his confidence after dropping two potential interceptions.
Both players responded with decisive performances as the Denver Broncos rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit to defeat Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams 30-26.
Nix completed 17 of 34 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also scored the winning touchdown on a quarterback keeper with 47 seconds remaining. NFL.com

“I actually had to have a pep talk with myself,” Hufanga said after dropping the earlier interception opportunities.
Broncos Overcome 16-0 Halftime Deficit
Denver entered halftime trailing 16-0 and opened the third quarter with another three-and-out. The Broncos nevertheless mounted their second consecutive one-score comeback victory.

“In the huddle we feel a lot of belief that we’ve been there before and we have what it takes to go down against a really good defense and score points,” Nix said.
Denver cut the deficit to eight when Nix connected with Pat Bryant for a 5-yard touchdown and found Jaylen Waddle for the 2-point conversion.
The Broncos then tied the game when Nix threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Nate Adkins and completed another 2-point conversion to Bryant.
“We knew it was just a two-score game,” Nix said.
Hufanga Delivers a 66-Yard Pick-Six
Los Angeles regained the lead at 19-16 on Harrison Mevis’ fourth field goal, which followed an interception by Rams cornerback Justin Wallace.
Hufanga then gave Denver its first lead with 4:49 remaining. He jumped in front of running back Kyren Williams, intercepted Stafford’s pass and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown.
“To be honest, Matt Stafford is a lot faster than you think,” Hufanga said. “I might be slow, but he’s fast. I’ll give him his credit because I had to cut back on that play.”
“Hufanga did a really nice job of fighting through the Y (receiver) and I left it a little bit back behind him,” Stafford said. “If I just dirt it, or whatever, we come away with three points. I’ll take myself trying to make those plays all day.”
Hufanga credited patience for helping him rebound from his earlier missed opportunities.
“And man, two big plays,” he said.
Rams Respond Before Nix Leads Winning Drive
Los Angeles needed only four plays to answer Hufanga’s touchdown. Stafford found Konata Mumpfield for a 48-yard score after Denver cornerback Riley Moss fell, restoring the Rams’ lead at 26-23.
Nix responded by directing a 10-play, 65-yard drive. The possession included completions of 39 and 21 yards, as well as three defensive penalties against Los Angeles.
Wallace appeared to record his second interception of the game on third-and-6 from the Rams’ 11-yard line. He was instead penalized for defensive pass interference against Bryant, giving Denver a first down at the 7.
“You try to be physical as a DB,” Rams safety Quentin Lake said. “Sometimes, you know, I think at the end of the day, as you know, the rules are the rules. Can’t be too handsy. It’s unfortunate.”

Hufanga Seals Denver’s Victory
Stafford quickly moved the Rams to Denver’s 14-yard line and spiked the ball with two seconds left.
A false-start penalty pushed Los Angeles back to the 19. With the Rams sending five receivers into the end zone on the final play, Hufanga intercepted Stafford for the second time to secure the victory.
“Obviously a gutsy win,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said.
“I mean, it’s a tough one,” Stafford said.
Stafford completed 30 of 55 passes for 390 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Denver also sacked him four times. NFL.com
Adams Produces Another Big Performance
Stafford attempted a career-high 32 passes during the first half while playing without injured receiver Puka Nacua.
Davante Adams caught seven passes for 137 yards. He has accumulated 15 receptions and 332 receiving yards over his last two games, the most productive two-game stretch of his career.
Mevis connected on field goals of 36, 35 and 40 yards during the first half before adding another kick following Wallace’s interception.
Injuries
Rams cornerback Jaylen Watson injured his shoulder while covering Courtland Sutton shortly before halftime. He was taken from the sideline to the locker room on a cart.
Los Angeles also lost two tight ends during its first touchdown drive. Terrance Ferguson returned after hurting his ankle, while Colby Parkinson suffered a shoulder injury.
Denver played without rookie running back Jonah Coleman, who was placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain. Coleman had scored the decisive touchdown in the Broncos’ 20-13 victory over Jacksonville.
